Join us for a 3 day, 2 night yoga, acupuncture, movement, and hot spring retreat at Joyful Journeys Resort in Moffat, CO.
Metamorphosis
By attending this retreat, you will experience a Metamorphosis. The word “metamorphosis” is Greek, and it means to change or transform in shape. It entails an immature form transitioning into adulthood in distinct stages — going from one type of life form to a completely different one.
Throughout our lives, we change constantly. We are not the same person we were when we were a child, 10 years ago, or even last week. The question isn’t “Can I change?”, but rather “How do I grow consciously into whom I desire to be?”
Metamorphosis is transformation. The term is usually used when referencing butterflies. But metamorphosis for a caterpillar is a process of death and emergence, not morphing. Wrapped in the cocoon, its body decays into a blob of nutrient-rich stew of dead cells and innards. Then, in the midst of the decaying ooze, a new cell pops up! The imaginal cell, is encoded to create a butterfly.
We aren’t exactly butterflies… we can’t relate to the automatic and biological transformation that they go through due to their nature. And our emergence as a butterfly is not the end of our evolutionary journey. Rather for us non-butterflies, transformations have always been earned through effort and with further periods of transformation to be experienced.
In human transformation there too is a death and emergence process.
What is dying? The layers of our ego-based self-concept which no longer reflect the truth of who we are. What is emerging? A new sense of self — our true self.
By attending this retreat, you are allowing change and transformation to begin, to continue, or to go deeper. The retreat facilitators will guide you and make space for your process and your metamorphosis by offering: Therapeutic yoga, Movement Medicine, Acupuncture, Intentional group-led activities, and space for internal reflection.

MINERAL HOT SPRINGS
Native American elders and spiritual masters from the Crestone area consider this area on the west side of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains as one of the most sacred and energetically active places in North America. It is said that the water here is encoded with the energy of the earth from which it rises. The water is a sodium bicarbonate type with significant levels of boron, calcium, lithium, and magnesium along with several other beneficial minerals.
